HomeSpaLady on Waiting to Exhale
This has nothing to do with the movie “The Bodyguard”, nor the song.
It has to do with how I felt all week without my computer !! . . .and how I couldn’t wait to get home to get the situation rectified.
This is why I only posted once this week. Thank you to Saskia and Carol for keeping the ball rolling!
One week ago we arrived in Delray Beach Florida in a cozy townhouse on the beach. I was equipped to finish up the ebook and do some other writing when the glitches started and then spiraled into the final diagnosis (from Dell after several hours on the phone).
I had been ‘maliciously gripped’. That’s what they call the ‘malware’ virus. (If only we had an essential oil for that one !!)
I don’t know about any of you but this mercury retrograde was one of the worst I’ve ever experienced ! (over as of yesterday, thank goodness). I had many electronic/tele-communication and mechanical difficulties with the loss of my hard drive as the big finale!
Taking the attitude “there is a reason for everything”, after one day of brooding (because I still don’t know how much data I’ve lost), I surrendered and began to find blessings in the adversity.
My fingers went through their little withdrawal period from the keyboard and found themselves playing in sand and pulling out credit cards (the shopping on Atlantic Avenue is the best !).
We stopped once a day to the library for a quick email check, and John and I found some of the most delicious health food restaurants.
So the lesson here today (which I need to learn the most) is about protecting and backing up our digital information. We can learn together.
I’m taking a free seminar tomorrow on how to back up data. If any of you are interested, here is the info:
